This is the exclusion order issued to Nino Guttadauro. The order cites the authority of Executive Order 9066 to support Guttadauro’s exclusion from the 27 states listed. It orders Guttadauro to report in two days to Major Ashworth at the Whitcomb Hotel in San Francisco; be photographed and fingerprinted; provide the military with his plans for traveling out of the area; and notify the FBI when he arrived at his destination, in this case, Reno, Nev. Guttadauro took his family with him, but had great difficulty finding work in his field (as an accountant). His son, Angelo, a Colonel in the U.S. Army, testified in 1981 before the Commission on Wartime Relocation and Internment of Civilians, that the hearing given his father in 1942 was “a virtual star-chamber.”
